Corian® has been around for nearly 30 years and since its origination boat builders, architects, and designers in the marine industry have found its properties to be ideal for an aquatic environment. In 2000 when R.D. Wing Co. Inc. unveiled our patented Backlight Images™, we reenergized the use of Corian® in marine applications. Our Backlight Images™ are UV stable and will not yellow or fade due to sunlight, they are non-porous so salt and other natural deposits won't penetrate into the surface, they are semi-flexible and can take the rolling abuse of the sea. Many designers have found that a Backlight Image™ is a great centerpiece in the living quarters, sconce lighting, way-finding signage, overhead low-level soffit lighting, and many other applications.
